E F Showell (You Say, May 2) contends that medical equipment left at the closed branches of the former Worcester Royal Infirmary is now the property of the developer. This seems hard to believe but if it is true, I am as disgusted as Mr Showell appears to be.
However, this correspondent wants all this equipment parcelled up and sent to a "poor Commonwealth country." In fact, most poor Commonwealth countries have somewhat unsavoury regimes, and we would probably be helping a privileged elite and not the masses by helping to share up such regimes.
However any hand-out to a European state would be blocked by the likes of Mr Showell. Incidentally, his remarks about giving billions away to the EU are, of course, nonsense.
