I HAVE to hand it to Jon Burgess, he really is adroit in twisting facts.

He is implying that Maurice Brett is not telling the truth about the cruelty of the brutal hunting and killing of a heavily pregnant vixen and her unborn babies.

I am sure that a man of Mr Brett's integrity would not publish such a letter without verifying his facts. If, as Mr Burgess maintains, the hunting fraternity does not kill cubs, why weren't the dogs called off that unfortunate animal?

Of course the language used was emotive.

One cannot use euphemisms to disguise such an infamous act. All right-minded people were appalled at the account.

Once again, Mr Burgess ignores the cruelty aspect and attempts to portray hunters as only interested in conservation - what absolute piffle!

As I have said before, Worcester people can see through this ploy and realise that Mr Burgess is working on the premise that if you reiterate something, eventually people will believe it. They won't.

Rather than the anti-hunting lobby being desperate, it is the hunting fraternity that is afraid its "fun" is going to be stopped.
