Bromyard racer Nick Adcock was out of luck at Oulton Park, mechanical problems preventing him challenging for victory in the third and fourth rounds of the Volkswagen Racing Cup.
Adcock was plagued throughout the day by a mystery vibration which afflicted the handling of his Attinger Jack Advertising-backed Beetle RSi.
A bump with another car while dicing for fourth in the opening race did little to improve Adcock's chances and he had to settle for ninth at the chequered flag.
He improved to sixth overall, and fourth in Class A, in race two, to stay second in the series.
