WORCESTER boxer Harry Butler maintained his busy schedule with a bout at Dagenham's Goresbrook Lei-sure Centre, but he struggled to get to grips with tall Irish opponent Jason McKay and slipped to a points defeat.

It is only two weeks since Butler's previous outing, a points defeat against highly-rated Irishman Jim Rock, on a dinner show at Dublin's Burlington Hotel. This time he found himself up against it from the start against McKay who weighed in 4lbs heavier at 12st 7lb.

The man from Banbridge, County Down was on the front foot from the opening bell, scoring with a series of lefts to the body, and a left-right combination to the the head. Butler was forced to defend and only managed the occasional punch on the counter.

Butler rallied in the third round, scoring with an overhand right and two straight rights to the body but the Northern Irishman came back strongly late in the round leaving Butler picking up a couple of warnings for holding.

A sharp left from Butler early in the last round found its mark and although McKay tired a little in the later stages he still did enough to stay on top and earned his pat on the head from Harry at the end.
