DETAILS of Golden Jubilee celebrations in the Suckley area have been announced.

Events will run each day between Sunday, June 2 and Tuesday, June 4 with the parish council also planning to distribute commemorative bone china mugs to children under the age of 11.

A WI walk, ending with refreshments at Pewcroft Farm, will get celebrations under way on the Sunday. The following day, the farm will also host a Jubilee bonfire.

On Tuesday, there will be a family fun day at Suckley Sports Field with children's fancy dress, pony rides, bouncy castle, games and stalls. This starts at 11am and admission is free for adults, £3 for children on the gate or £2.50 in advance from Suckley Post Office.

On the Monday and Tuesday, Suckley Local History Society will stage a Jubilee exhibition in the village hall, between 11am and 4pm. This will include a photographic display of houses in Suckley in the 1950s and today, and a video tour of the area.

Organisers would also like to hear from anyone with commemorative china or printed items or pictures of the Coronation celebrations in the village. Anyone who can help, should contact 01886 884611 or 884357.

There are also plans to plant commemorative trees in the school garden, churchyard and sports field.
