A MALVERN schoolgirl almost had her dreams of arriving to her leavers' ball in style dashed when the classic car she was expecting crashed the night before the party.

Danielle Mulka was expecting to arrive at the Chase High School ball in a Morgan Aero 8 after her dad, Steve, wrote to the Morgan Motoring Company asking where he might find "a car that would compare to her beauty".

Mr Mulka said this was an opportunity to give Danielle a special treat for helping out at home, and looking after her brother and sister when their mum fell ill.

"When Danielle isn't at school she helps her mother at home, something I know doesn't come naturally to most teenagers," said Mr Mulka, of Duke of Edinburgh Way.

"I chose Morgan because we've lived in Malvern all our lives, and because it manufactures something a bit different to the norm."

Morgan immediately offered its new super car, the Aero 8, and a driver, free of charge for the ball last Thursday.

But the night before, the car was involved in a crash and could not be used.

"One of the board of directors took the car home, but it was involved in an accident," said Mark Ledington, Morgan's sales manager.

"There was no serious damage, just a few dents needed knocking out, but it wasn't in a presentable state."

So the company's owner, Peter Morgan, offered his own car to get Danielle to the ball in style.

The blushing 16-year-old eventually rolled up to the Geraldine Road school in a Morgan Plus 8 driven by Morgan enthusiast Dixon Smith.

"It was fantastic, I'd really like to thank the people who donated the car," said Danielle.

"It was really comfortable inside. "My friends were really impressed."

Danielle has now left Chase High School and will be going on to study catering at Worcester College of Technology.

"Danielle had a wonderful night," added Mr Mulka.

"My wife, Danielle and I are very grateful to Mr Morgan, Mr Smith and the Morgan Motor Company for their help in making this a night Danielle will always remember."
