JOHN Brain has confirmed a double signing at Sixways.

Worcester's Director of Rugby has captured the signatures of Premiership prop Adrian Olver and up and coming full back Hugo Southwell.

Olver, the 32-year-old tight-head prop from Harlequins, has penned a deal designed to keep him at Sixways until 2004.

The former Saracens and Rotherham star has made 22 appearances in the top flight this season and Brain believes his arrival will increase the depth of an already impressive Sixways squad.

"He is extremely experienced in the Premiership and will bring real quality to the squad," said Brain.

"We want as much competition for places as possible and this is another move in the right direction."

Southwell -- a product of Bristol's academy -- has been on trial for a couple of months at Worcester and Brain has seen enough of the 21-year-old to offer a contract.

"He is a young, exciting player who is very hungry for first-team rugby," Brain added.
