THE extraordinary wealth of Mozart's music is being presented in a series of five concerts by the ESO at the Forum, Malvern Theatres this month.

The four concerts - on May 10, 18, 24 and 31 - will take listeners on a journey into the musical world of one of the most celebrated composers ever.

The series features music written by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart from the age of 15 right up to 32, three years before his death.

Twenty of the great man's compositions are featured in the series, at the core of which are the five much-loved violin concertos, all written in 1775, together with the equally popular concertos for flute, oboe and bassoon.

Also included are several rarely-heard symphonies and the great favourite, Eine Kleine Nachtmusik.

Some of the ESO's most talented players will be demonstrating their expertise under the direction of ESO concertmaster Michael Bochmann, who will also be the soloist in the five violin concertos.

The other soloists will be Helen Roberts (viola), Paul Arden Taylor (oboe), Judith Hall (flute) and Keith Rubach (bassoon).

Each concert will be preceded with a short talk on some aspect of Mozart's music, and the performance of specially-commissioned pieces, Four Jilalahs by Stephen Roberts.
