AM I the only one who seems to be confused by the articles in last week's Malvern Gazette regarding alleged 'antisocial behaviour'?

Firstly we had PC Sarkar strongly laying down the law to any miscreants in Lansdowne Close, pointing out that if they persist in playing in the street to the annoyance of the residents they can expect harsh punishment.

Then, in the same issue, Inspector Neville Sheldrick tells us we are alienating youngsters by expecting them to behave responsibly. Which view reflects the views of the Home Secretary, or indeed the public at large?

Inspector Sheldrick then follows up with a letter (Your Letters, April 26) exhorting people not to park on pavements and double yellow lines in Malvern and Upton as it's discourteous. Letters like that should get the muggers in Brixton shaking in their shoes!
