FOLLOWING the recent successful "taster

courses", Herefordshire Lifelong Learning Partnership is putting on another session on May 25 to try two further subjects: Garden

design in the morning, with specialist writer Fiona Hopes as tutor and French conversation in the afternoon with experienced teacher Bridget Halpern.

It is hoped that a six week Pilates fitness session will take place in the hall before the start of the summer holidays, when the tutor will be Meriel Simon and fees will be around £13 with the usual concessions. A short art & drawing course is already in being but needs more students. It would be a pity for the class not to continue, as the tutor Elaine Bentley is an accomplished artist and a very enthusiastic teacher.

The remaining five weeks will explore sketching, drawing, painting and picture making using a wide range of techniques and materials, and students are free to join in the various projects or do their own thing - come and have fun! The course runs for the next five Thursdays at 7pm and the fees are £25.60 with concessions.

Anyone interested in enrolling for any of these courses can ring Meg Hughes 07980 277085.

Details will be posted on the village notice boards soon about the proposed computer courses, which hope to start mid-May and will include a beginners course and one on desktop publishing. In the meantime contact Nick Gurney (01432) 267820.

The charity concert last Saturday was a great success and it is hoped that a similar event in aid of SSAFA and our Memorial Hall will be staged next year.

Don't forget the May fair tomorrow (Saturday) from 9.30am to 11.30am and bring any surplus plants or produce to help village funds - there are sure to be some unusual plants to be had, and prices are always very reasonable.

The Hall will be open Friday evening for the delivery of plants and jumble.
