ON Monday, May 6, the Wyche & Colwall Horticultural Society will be holding its next meeting at 7.30pm at the village hall. Gerald Sinclair will be giving a talk about 'Daylilies'. He is from the Nursery Further Afield in Brackley, which holds the national collection of Hemerocallis. He also has a special interest in geraniums and other hardy perennials. At this meeting there will also be a large plant sale.
Tomorrow (Saturday) everyone is invited to join in the village spring cleaning day. Meet at 9.30am at Colwall Stone. Everyone will be divided into small groups to tackle various parts in the village. Bin liners and tabards will be provided but wear some gardening gloves. The morning will finish at 11.30am with coffee.
A Rogation Walk around the parish boundaries will take place on Sunday, May 5. There will be a short service at St James Church at 10am before setting off at 10.15am. Pamphlets (setting out the details and timings are available in church). Please join in at any time during the day. Don't forget to bring a picnic lunch to eat on the Green between 1.30pm and 2.30pm. Drinks will be provided.
The next production by the Colwall Players will be Ten times Table by Alan Ayckbourn to go on in the Village Hall on May 23-25 at 7.30pm. Tickets £5 and £3 from John Goodwin.
