THE third Malvern Open Pool competition was held at Strikes Ten Pin Bowling with once again a fine turnout with entrants from all over the three counties.
Defending champion Harry Fletcher got off to a brilliant start beating last time semi-finalist Duncan Wood 3-0. Pool professional Sean Daley lost in the first round to Fred Tandy.
The semi-finalists were made up entirely of the Willie Thorne E Snooker team of Jon Smith, Dean Watson, Harry Fletcher (age 15) and 14-year-old Jon Lewis. The exciting games then produced a great final for the Malvern youngsters with Harry Fletcher once again clinching the title and the £100 prize money by beating Jon Lewis 4-1.
The next competition will be held at Willie Thorne's and anyone wishing to enter should contact Dameon on (01684) 892147.
