MALVERN Premier's sheer determination to finish near the top of the Worcester League Division Two table has been evident with 12 goals to their credit in the last three games and a decisive win against Express 88 last Sunday for their third win in a row.
MALVERN PREMIERS 4, EXPRESS 0
The first goal against the Express came from captain Jason Griffiths with a superb run through and a cool one-on-one against the keeper to give the Prems an early lead. A justly deserved first of the season goal for Griffiths for all his constant inspiration to the team throughout the season.
The second goal came 15 minutes later with a neat lay off by Jamie Abba for Nick Kordas to finish in style with a blasting shot into the back of the net putting the Prems 2-0 in the lead at half time.
The second half saw the Prems in control again and a pin point cross by David Loader saw Kordas claim his second goal. Man of the match Keith Reynolds scored number four to give the Prems a fine win.
Player manager Dave Loader said: "All credit to the lads, they have played some convincing football over the last few games and although not everything has gone our way, for the sheer determination and team spirit we deserve a place near the top of the table."
Malvern Premiers, sponsored by the Cross Keys, play at home on Sunday against Colwall St James. Players meet Lower Howsell at 9.45.
