A FIVE-year-old boy needed hospital treatment after a Droitwich man kicked in a car window, showering a tot sitting inside with broken glass.
Worcester magistrates heard Mark Bowie put his foot through the window in a fit of rage on Monday, April 8.
The youngster needed treatment for cuts to his head.
Sally Hill, prosecuting, said the youngster had to have butterfly stitches for a 1cm cut close to his right eye and on his forehead.
The incident happened outside Bowie's home in Stalls Farm Road after a woman visited the house.
"Mr Bowie ran towards the car and gave a flying kick to the rear window," she said.
"It was quite a nasty situation as far as the child was concerned, and he's become quite withdrawn and frightened of going back into the car.
Admissions
"When Bowie was interviewed, he made full admissions as far as the window was concerned.
"But he said he wouldn't have done it if he'd known a child was in the car."
Ian Speed, defending, described the relationship between Bowie and the woman as being "heated".
Magistrates adjourned the case until Monday, May 13, for pre-sentence reports.
