On attending the St George's Day Parade on Sunday, April 21 as an ex-Chairman of the Scouts, it was good to see such a large attendance filling All Saints Church.
The Cubs, Brownies, Scouts and Guides etc looked so smart and showed very good behaviour all through the Church service. It was good to see so many leaders, many of whom I have known for years and who give so much of their time completely voluntarily to give the youth interests and principles in life at the most receptive age.
I was disappointed learn later that parade organisers had to pay a fee of £66.63 for a road closure order so that the youngsters could march behind a police car from the Railway Station to the Church, especially, as I have said, the Leaders give so much time to give these young ones the start in life they deserve, without any help from Government grants.

l Clare Flanagan, solicitor with Wychavon District Council, said the money was the statutory fee paid to Wychavon for the road closure order and did not go to the police. She added that she was impressed that the police provided a car to head the parade.
