CONMEN posing as water board officials stole several hundred pounds from an 85-year-old Bidford woman on Monday.
The men turned up at her home in The Leys, Bidford, claiming that there was a burst pipe that needed to be checked.
While one of the men went to the kitchen and appeared to check the pipes under the sink, the other man walked through the rest of the house and out of the back door.
The woman, who is believed to be in poor health, later discovered that her money was missing and immediately contacted a neighbour.
The men, one of whom was wearing a white shirt and grey trousers, were aged between 20 and 30. They made their getaway in what appeared to be a white Transit van.
Police said the victim was distressed and asked anyone with information to contact Alcester police on 01926 415000.
