MES Pinvin and District Crib League
CHEQUERS (Crowle) hosted the annual finals night for both cups, singles and doubles.
Mark Shale (Swan, Birling-ham) had a highly successful night winning both the singles title and the doubles title with partner Andy McKay.
Results - Singles: M Shale 2, H Newman (Swan) 0; M Palfrey (PWMC) 2, P Corbett (Old Oak) 1. Final : Shale 2, Palfrey 0.
Doubles: M Shale and A McKay 2, S Brown & H Newman (Swan) 1; G Beard & B Male 2, K Izod & J Byrd 1 (both Old Oak). Final: Shale & McKay 2, Beard & Male 1.
The Harwood Cup final was a close game with the Swan eventually beating Chequers 5-4 thanks to captain Joyce Bird winning her singles 2-0 against Max Tredwell.
The Cooper Cup final turned into a one-sided affair with Chestnut (Lower Moor) racing into a winning 5-0 lead with opponents Pershore Town FC not even winning a leg.
They were redeemed later as Stan Edwards and John Matthews both won their singles in a 7-2 defeat.
The league's thanks go to the Chequers for hosting a great evening and Gary Perks for making sure everything ran smoothly.
Pinvin RBL remain four points clear at the summit with just three games left to play after a resounding 7-2 defeat of Chestnut (Lower Moor).
Closest rivals Masons (Wadb-orough) kept up the pressure after a narrow 5-4 win over Bell (Eckington).
Chequers (Crowle), Pershore Town FC and Swan (Billing-ham) were last week's other winners.
