HEADLESS Cross Ladies' championship dream was in tatters last night after a heartbreaking 1-0 loss to title-rivals Leafield Athletic.
The visitors won to go top and push Cross into second with one match to go.
Headless are hoping Leafield lose their final league match, planned for Sunday, and they can beat fourth placed Villa Vets at Sutton United on Tuesday (ko 8pm) which would give Cross top spot on goal difference.
Villa have five other fixtures to fit in by the end of the month and can still overhaul both sides.
Redditch United Women visit third placed Fairfield Villa tonight (ko 6.45pm).
