A SPECIAL evening of jazz music with a rail theme and a selection of rail verse old and new called Transports of Delight is being held in Pershore tomorrow (Friday).
It marks the anniversary of the public opening of the railway in the town and music will be provided by the Dutch Lewis Quarter with Jayne Lewis, with original verse from West Midlands poet Julie Boden and traditional verse including Edward Thomas's Adlestrop and Sir John Betjeman's poem on Pershore Station read by June Herbert of Pershore Operatic and Dramatic Society.
The event at St Agatha's Hall starts at 7.30pm and tickets cost £6, including buffet and a glass of wine, from Blue, Broad Street, Wanderers World Travel, High Street, Pershore and Evesham Tourist Information Centres, and Julian Palfrey on 01386 561198.
