The district governor of the Midlands district visited the club's April business meeting.

This is an annual event, the district governor visiting during his or her year of office to show that all Lions Clubs are valued and play an important part in Lions International.

The annual raft race will take place on Sunday, May 12. A great deal of equipment has been hired, and the group of people who help to make the event safe, namely first aiders, divers and the local radio group Raynet.

This year sponsorship money will go to SARA, a local group setting up a rescue service to the area covering the River Severn in Stourport and Bewdley.

There is still time to enter for the race, help given where required.

Old prescription glasses are also still being collected.

The Lions will be manning fund-raising stalls at local carnivals.
