At the April meeting, chairman Fred Rogers welcomed Mick Skelding as guest speaker.
Mick said members should start looking for potential show birds very soon after the beginning of the breeding season.
Before putting together a show team, people should examine the birds for broken feathers. A flight feather will take five to six weeks to grow again, a tail feather a little longer.
The next meeting on May 14 at the RAOB Club, Scotts Road, Stourbridge, starting at 8pm, will feature F Pye with a talk on Canaries.
