Hon Secretary Gwen Jones presented Fifteen to One on April 19. This was the latest programme in the Full Circle series, where recordings of complete works are played, and Gwen illustrated her title with three "fifth" works, and one "first".
She introduced the works with details of their origins and dates of first performances.
The programme began with William Boyce's Symphony number one in B flat major, played by the I Solisti di Zagreb conducted by Antonio Janigro.
Next came some chamber music, Haydn's String Quartet op 76 number 5, played by the Kodaly Quartet.
Beethoven's Emperor, Piano Concerto number 5, played by Alfred Brendel with the London Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Bernard Haitink completed the first half of the programme. This work was first performed in Leipzig in 1811, and then in Vienna in 1812, when Czerny was the pianist.
The second half comprised Symphony number 5 in D major by Ralph Vaughan Williams.
