Members and friends took a look "behind the scenes" at Rowberry's Nursery, gaining an insight into commercial propagation and the hazards and technical knowledge required to run a successful story.
After the tour members were able to purchase goods at a discount.
On Wednesday members are asked to bring "bugs" (in jam jars) for identification by guest Michael Leech, an entomologist and botanist who will tell which are Friends or Foes in the Garden.
A few places are available for the outing to Barnsdale Gardens on August 21.
Members are urged to bring surplus plants and vegetables for the trade stand at the May meeting in the village hall.
Visitors will be welcome.
