HERITAGE AND HISTORY SOCIETY: The next monthly meeting will be held today (Thursday) at 7.30pm at Wulstan Hall, Priest Lane, Pershore. The speaker will be Mr Gerald Heath and his subject will be 'Evesham Past and Present'. Admission is free to members and £1 for visitors. Everyone is welcome.

TREFOIL GUILDS AND THE GUIDE ASSOCIATION: Are holding a fund raising, bring and buy coffee morning on Saturday, May 4 at St Andrews Hall, Pershore, 10am to noon. Entrance is 30p which will include tea/coffee and biscuit. The coffee morning is to raise funds for 'Acorns Hospice and Pershore Trefoil Guild.

INNER WHEEL AND ROTARY CLUBS OF WORCESTER: Raising money for St Richard's Hospice invite you to a concert given by the Band of West Mercia Constabulary and Rebecca Taylor with Eileen Trevis in Pershore Abbey on Saturday, June 1, at 7.30pm. ANIMAL CHARITIES FAIR: At the Big Hall, Peopleton, is being held on Saturday, May 11, between 2pm and 4.30m. There will be barn owls, ferrets, snakes, frogs and many more animals. The event is supported by many other animal charities, who will be supporting the event. Home made cakes, provisions, tombola, and raffle and refreshments will be available. Unfortunately no dogs will be allowed in the hall.

FLOWER AND CRAFT SHOW: Are now circulating programmes, schedules and entry forms for this year's show which will take place on Saturday, August 10, between 1pm and 5pm at The Angel Hotel Riverside Gardens, High Street, Pershore by kind permission of Mr Juan Mendez. Programmes and schedules are available in most shops in town.

ARTS THEATRE CLUB: The club's AGM was followed by an evening of words and music, provided by club members, which was very much enjoyed by all present. It was noted that the club was formed in 1963 to provide fund raising support to the Swan Theatre in Worcester and will have its 40th anniversary next year, and it was agreed that special events should be organised to celebrate this.

An outing to the Symphony Hall in Birmingham to talk on the hall's new organ, followed by an organ concert was enjoyed. A visit to Birmingham Hippodrome to see the Birmingham Royal Ballet in 'Hobson's Choice' has been arranged for May 25. Outings to Gloucester Cathedral and Nature in Art at Twigworth, Castle Bromwich Gardens and to Chavenage are being organised for the summer months.

The final evening meeting of the season will take place on Friday, May 17, at 7.30pm at St Agatha's Hall, when Dorothy Norman will give a talk entitled 'Music and Me'. New members are always welcome. Contact Jean Norcott on 01386 561624 about future events.

DANCE AT 8: Present Salsa and Latin Line dancing at Abbey Park First School, Pershore starting on Tuesday, May 7. Salsa will commence at 7.30pm until 8.30pm and Latin Line from 8.30pm to 9.30pm. Costing £3 per person with a special for both classes of £5.
