SNOOKER enthusiasts in Kiddermin-ster will take their cue to raise money for charity next week.

The Kidderminster branch of Pockets UK has put itself in the frame to donate 50p for every hour's table use as part of "Pay To Play" on May 11-12.

The initiative has been organised by Sport Relief, a joint venture between BBC Sport and Comic Relief, to raise cash for young people across the world - and is being supported by a host of football, rugby and cricket clubs across the country.

And Pockets, based in Church Street, is urging everyone to take part.

Proprietor Allan Atkinson said: "It is a great chance for everyone to come down and get involved in the activities. We hope to see all our regulars and maybe some people who have always wanted to have a go at playing snooker."

He added: "We want to raise as much money as we can for the kids."
