WORCESTER Rugby Club starlet Greg Fincher has been asked to join Nigel Redman's revolution at Sixways.

The 16-year-old has enjoyed a fantastic season culminating in three under 16 England appearances against Italy and Wales. And after a number of impressive displays for Worcester's under 16s and Royal Grammar School this year, the inside centre has been invited to join the RFU England academy by West Midlands director Redman.

"We obviously want to keep our best young players at the club and Greg is certainly one we have identified," said the former British Lions star.

"We have two programmes here at Worcester. The Worcester academy and the England RFU programme. We would expect to have around 40 players at the academy next season and 12-15 of those will be in the England programme. We cannot be precise at present because letters are still being sent out to players.

"Greg has had a great season and we want to make sure he stays in the area. Obviously he has a big couple of years coming up with A-Levels and his education must come first. We will work around him and support him.

"We've had a good look at Worcester's under 17s, under 19s and under 21s and there are some very good players here at Sixways."

Fincher made his under 16 England debut in Italy in March as they hammered their hosts 77-7. He was then part of the teams which beat and then lost to Wales in the next two internationals last month. He began his Sixways career playing in the under eights and has captained Worcester from under-12 level onwards.
