SURPRISE, surprise. Much to the consternation of many fans Kidderminster Harriers have appointed Ian Britton as manager.

This decision is really going to stimulate season-ticket sales!

How we could appoint someone who has never managed a club higher than Bridgnorth Town beggars belief.

We are all aware that costs have to be reduced, but surely we had to appoint a manager with contacts, someone who has had daily dealings with players on a full-time basis.

If would be interesting to know if any other interviews were conducted, because why advertise in the daily nationals when it was obvious minds were made up?

Richie Appleby has to be the pivotal figure in next season's team, but what chance do we have of keeping him if "cheap and cheerful" is the theme, especially with Jan Molby sniffing around.

As a true fan I shall be there next season, but I really think we have gone down a very dangerous path with this appointment.
