BOMB disposal experts were called to a house in Evesham after a man discovered an unexploded hand grenade.
John Moore, of Hinton Cross, Cheltenham Road, found the Second World War device while digging in his garden at about 8.30am on Tuesday.
Vicki Davies, press officer for West Mercia police said: "We contacted the Bomb Disposal Unit who removed and disposed of the device just after 10am.
No one was at risk and there was no evacuation of nearby premises."
