Newtown Spts 4,

Salford Rvrs U-13 5

A HAT-TRICK from Jamie Coughlan inspired Rovers to victory in Sunday's nine-goal thriller.

Salford conceded two first half goals but a Coughlan brace, both the result of crosses from Ashley Wilkes, levelled matters before Robert Preston again benefited from more good work from Wilkes.

Newtown, however, scored a third before the break and then stunned Rovers with a fourth goal. Salford kept their heads up and defender Tristan Gretton nodded in an equaliser from Shaun Read's free-kick.

It was left to Wilkes and Coughlan to engineer the winner with the latter completing his treble but only excellent work from goalkeeper Richard Print prevented the hosts levelling late on.

Chipping Campden U-14 0,

Peopleton 10

LEA Miller bagged a hat-trick in the opening ten minutes to set Peopleton on the way to an emphatic win.

Andy Lamb and Luke Frankum then both scored twice to give the visitors a 7-0 interval lead.

Campden never looked as if they were going to score against the side with one of the best defensive records in the division and the Peopleton defenders became hungry for goals themselves and Scott Hughes scored the eighth with a glorious solo strike.

Miller capped a fine individual show with his fourth and fifth goals to move to within one of the 50-mark for the season.

Drakes Broughton 0,

Littleton Jnrs U-11 3

LITTLETON completed their league fixtures with a comfortable win.

In blustery conditions both sides contributed to a flowing game of football. Matt Goss was unlucky to see his shot hit the bar and rebound to safety. Matt Smith then hit a trademark effort from distance which cannoned of the bar with the Drakes keeper well beaten.

Goss finally broke the deadlock when Steve Edghill and Matt Taylor worked an opening for the scorer to finish with his customary coolness.

Littleton's second was a classic with keeper Sam Bastow playing the ball wide to Edghill whose pass found Taylor before Goss hit a pinpoint cross to the far post where Ben Johns hammered the ball into the net.

On the stroke of half-time, Dan Lloyd missed a glorious opportunity to pull a goal back for Drakes when he miskicked with the goal at his mercy.

The second half continued at a furious pace and Ryan Clarke played a great ball out of defence to Phil Davis who held the ball up for his supplier, who had run the full length of the pitch, to finish with a drive from ten yards.

There were no further goals and Littleton will look back on another successful season where they have remained unbeaten in the league with great pride.

Yarnton 3, Evesham Utd U-11 7

UNITED completed their Witney League campaign with a lively away victory against previous title challengers Yarnton.

The game was almost over at half-time with Evesham 4-0 up. Tom Adam Miles, Rob Andrew (2) and a free-kick from Scott Andrews were the scorers among numerous other chances.

In the second half Evesham went 5-0 up when Ben Parry was brought down inside the area and he converted the penalty himself.

Evesham then hit a bad patch as Yarnton found some form to respond with three goals in seven minutes. But at 5-3, Parry was sent clear by Jon Wein and he squeezed the ball past the goalkeeper. A fierce shot by Adam Styles completed the win for the champions.

Evesham Utd U-14 3,

Newtown Spts 3

UNITED wrapped up their season with a fine display against their championship chasing opponents.

Evesham opened the scoring when Sean Fensome netted from close-range but Newtown kept pushing forward and were rewarded with an equaliser before the break.

The second half started with a flurry of goals as Kevin Miles struck twice to make it 3-1 to the home side.

However, they failed to halt a rampant Sports attack hitting back to score twice and earn a draw thanks to a penalty kick.

United worked hard throughout and solid defensive play from Daniel Rock and Dean Kerr ensured the hosts ended the season on something of a high.

Churchdown Panthers Colts 4,

Badsey Rgrs U-12 2

BADSEY completed their season in disappointing fashion against the newly crowned champions.

A strong wind made life tricky for both sides but it was Rangers who took the lead when player of the match Pete Heyes scored after two minutes.

However, less than a minute later it was all-square again as a weak back pass was seized upon by an eager Churchdown forward.

Playing against the elements, Rangers then went on to concede three goals in eight minutes to fall 4-1 behind at half-time.

It was a different story after the restart with the Panthers being pinned in their own half and the Badsey goalkeeper virtually redundant.

His opposite number, though, made a series of excellent stops to deny Rangers whose only consolation came courtesy of Matty Young five minutes from time.

Ethan Cronin ran Heyes hard for the player of the match award after a solid defensive display.
