A SOLITARY strike from Darren Reeves was sufficient to secure Littleton the Midland Combination Division two title at Chasetown last Saturday.
Reeves, who makes a habit of scoring vital goals, drove a powerful shot into the net on the stroke of full time to leave Littleton 11 points clear of Halfords, who could only manage a goalless draw at Handsworth.
The new champions had taken a huge step to sealing the crown last Thursday night when they defeated Wilmcote 3-1.
They trailed at half-time but an early penalty converted by Bobby Deacon and further goals from Richard Bate and Curtis Major wrapped up a 20th successive league win.
Wilmcote's hopes weren't helped when they had a player dismissed for foolishly disputing what was a blatant penalty.
The top two clash at Pebworth Road on Monday morning (11.30am) when the hosts bring the curtain down on what has been a memorable first season at a higher level.
After winning the Worcestershire FA Saturday Junior Cup, Andy Robbins' men will attempt to add a knockout double to their story of success when they face Malvern Town Reserves in the Evesham Hospital and Charity Saturday Junior Cup at Common Road on Saturday (6.15pm).
