COMPASS Theatre Company's latest production, Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot, is at The Theatre, Chipping Norton, on Tuesday, May 7 (8pm).

Beckett's masterpiece introduces two tramps waiting for the mysterious Godot. Continually aware of cold, hunger and pain, the pair spend their days pondering, squabbling, joking and waiting.

Voted the most significant English language play of the 20th century in a Royal National Theatre poll, Beckett's response to speculation about the play's symbolism was: "Why people have to complicate a thing so simple I can't make out."
