CATSHILL residents can help to shape the future of their area thanks to a 3-D model which has been made by village children.

Pupils from Catshill First School, in Gibb Lane, and Chadsgrove School, in Meadow Road, have just finished making a model of their community as part of the Planning for Real project.

Bromsgrove District Council will use the creation as the focus of a brain storming session which will help shape development of the area. The session will be held at the recreation ground, off Meadow Road, on Monday.

The authority's principal leisure officer, Alice Davey, said: "The council has £300,000 to invest in Catshill and we are anxious the whole community gets involved in how it should be reshaped."

Representatives from leisure, housing, community safety, health, the police, the village hall, education and legal will be among those attending the event, which will run from 9am until 2pm.

There will also be plenty of entertainment for the children, plus a car boot sale.

The model is also available for booking by groups and individuals who are interested in helping to develop the area in the run up to May Day.
