A PLANNING appeal has been put in following the second refusal by Wychavon District Council to give permission for a low-profile home with associated parking and turning area at The Sports Car Centre, Worcester Road, Drakes Broughton.
The council told Mr C Millington that due to the restricted size of the plot, it would result in a cramped form of development, lacking private amenity space. The arrangements for the driveway, the council said, would make it difficult for vehicles using the car centre.
Mr Millington has appealed to the Planning Inspectorate and in his grounds of appeal he points out that the site is a fully tarmaced area for more than 20 cars and an existing garage. The proposal would be far more pleasing, less noisy and would eliminate a commercial use in an area zoned for housing.
"The proposal to change the use to residential is a positive planning gain," he says.
