FITNESS is high on the agenda at Alcester Grammar School after it netted nearly £4,000 to develop its table tennis facilities to benefit the whole community.
The school has just been awarded £3,940 from a National Lottery awards scheme.
The grant will be used to develop its existing table tennis facilities and create an after-school club for pupils and the community. It will also cover equipment, coaching costs, coach education and league fees.
Six pupils have been hitting all the right notes after achieving outstanding successes in recent music exams.
The highest level awards went to Annie Vater (Grade 8 piano), Helen Eburah (Grade 8 cello), Nichola Preston (Grade 8 singing, with merit), Chloe Brown (Grade 8 music theatre) and Year 9 pupil Sophie Walter, who won a distinction at Grade 8 on her clarinet.
Year 13 pupil Laura Ellison has been awarded a Licentiate of the London College of Music in music theatre.
