FURTHER to the article headlined "Halfway to Paradise," Billy Fury appeared numerous times in the 1960s at the Gaumont Theatre.
He was part of the Larry Parnes rock stable, where all the stars bore unusual surnames e.g. Pride, Eager, Gentle, Wild, Storm, Tempest and, of course, Fury.
Billy was nearly banned on numerous occasions when he "made love" to the microphone stand during his stage act! Those were the days.
MR J BADGER,
Worcester.
