REGARDING the letter in the Evening News (You Say, April 10), from Kate Wildish of Worcester, if it is so difficult to claim asylum in Britain, why are so many trying and succeeding in getting over here?

Surely, to give them vouchers for food and clothes is far better than being shot at, starving and cold and nowhere to sleep.

At least in camps they will be fed and safe. But for some of these asylum seekers, it is not enough. They demand medication, homes with high standards and a better life than British people have.

This is not about colour, race, creed, it's about priorities. Let's look after people in this country first and foremost.

JUNE SMITH,

Warndon, Worcester.
