Time was taken to reflect on the life of the Queen Mother and to offer personal condolence to HM The Queen, on April 8.

Plans were confirmed for the rummage sale on May 9, plant sale on May 25, and names taken for the "ribbon weaving" workshop on August 12.

Tickets have been purchased for 50 Golden Years at the Swan Theatre in June.

Reports on the council meeting and calligraphy day were given. It was decided to purchase the sound equipment tried out during the evening.

Members heard an illustrated talk on Hearing Dogs for the Deaf, and held a collection.

A presentation of a rose bowl was made to Jean Small to mark 50 years of music-making with Wolverley. The choir, conducted by Jean, entertained members and friends before celebrating with white wine punch and savoury nibbles.

The May 13 meeting will feature discussion and voting on "Resolutions", then a video show by Roger Jordan.
