After business matters were dealt with at the April meeting, Eve Owen reported on a ceilidh at Hartlebury, followed by an American supper.
Brenda Barratt told of an evening at Stourport Civic Hall when Sue Ridges gave a slide show and talk on her walk to the North Pole, including her training, equipment and the actual journey.
Rosemary Boucher reported on the annual council meeting, when Mrs Johnson gave the address, stressing the importance of work done by WI throughout the world. The guest speaker was Kay Alexander.
Edith Parker reported on the group meeting, which included a talk on the National Trust.
The April speaker, Anne Nichols, gave a history of hat-making, demonstrating how to use equipment such as crowns and rim blocks, and the different materials.
Members were then invited to try on various hats.
Lesley Grant won the competition for the best hat-pin.
The next meeting will be on Monday, May 6.
