PARISH COUNCIL: Matters concerning the playing field were discussed, and the problem of the use of cycles was aired. The question of the provision of a cycle park with facilities for locking cycles was discussed, and a possible site was suggested. The new play area was reported to have been well used over the school Easter holidays. New turves had been laid in ideal conditions but the subsequent fine weather had meant too much drying out. The chairman, Mr Derrick Grainger, was thanked for the five hours watering he and his wife had done over the Easter weekend. Mr Grainger reported that he was waiting for further estimates for the fencing before the project could be completed.

The problem of vandalism on the playing field was discussed and it was agreed that when the identity of the culprits was known, a letter would be sent direct to the parents from parish council, advising them of their children's behaviour. All councillors and the parents of the young children using the play area were asked to be vigilant of the situation there.

JUBILEE: The parish council received notice from Wyvern FM who are celebrating the Queen's Jubilee with a music festival at Worcestershire Cricket Club over the weekend of June 2 and 3. There will be a pop concert, XS 2002, featuring Blue, H and Clare and 35L and also a classic music concert which will be an evening of music with the English Symphony Orchestra, picnic and prom.
