BARRY McFarland says he is "highly honoured" to be Labour's choice and looks forward to representing the people of Wribb-enhall and Arley.
Barry has previous experience as a councillor, has been a member of the Scout Association, a school governor and a volunteer worker with various young people's organisations.
He firmly believes that local services should remain in public hands and that elected members should be accountable for them - eg leisure services should be available to everybody at an affordable cost and our children should have safe and exciting play areas run by the council.
Barry would like to see increased effort by the council to attract more jobs into the area.
He says: "There is great scope to develop existing industrial land.
"However, the green belt must be protected and all future planning should be guided by environmental sustainability."
