FRINGE players were given a chance for Chaddesley Corbett but it did not pay off as they were beaten 3-1 at Bridgnorth Town Reserves in West Midlands League Division One South.
Chaddesley travelled to the match on the Severn Valley Railway but the selected 11 ran out of steam in a lacklustre first-half display.
Bridgnorth took advantage to race into a two-goal lead and were rarely troubled at the back.
Shortly before half-time, Ian Vogel put Chaddesley back in the match with a smartly taken goal.
The three substitutes were introduced at the start of the second half and Chaddesley had more of the play but failed to capitalise on the many openings they created.
They felt a goal-bound Ashley Phillips effort was stopped by an arm but the referee did not agree.
And Chaddesley made a mistake when Daniel Matthews raced through unmarked to score the Crown Meadow outfit's third goal.
Fixture, Saturday: Chaddesley v Bustleholme Reserves (at Brintons 2.45pm, players to meet at Oldington for 1.30pm).
Squad: Anthony Shuck, Knight, R Burton, Vogel, Birch, Andy Shuck, B Burton, Phillips, Williams, Pratt, Baynton, Roberts, Kilgour, Baylis, Baker, Webb.
