THE Birdseye Sports Evesham Sunday League staged its Black and White Garages Bluck Cup final at Blockley Sports on Sunday when, on a superb playing surface, the large crowd were treated to an excellent match between Mountinneers and Salford Rovers.

Mountinneers dominated the first half and two goals in two minutes gave them a deserved interval advantage. Stanton opened the scoring, then Page hit a superb shot from 25 yards.

They hit the woodwork for a third time early in the second half before Matthew Gould reduced the arrears. Brett Green levelled ten minutes from time before Shane Edwards ran on to a long ball and superbly slotted the ball past the keeper to give Rovers the trophy.

Inkberrow reached the Evesham Mech-anical Services Subsidiary Cup final coming from behind to defeat Badsey Rec. Moss gave Badsey an interval lead before goals from Algar and Wallis took the "berrow" into the final.

Evesham WMC moved within three points of Moreton Wanderers at the top of Division One hitting six goals past Tewkesbury Town. Steeds hit a hat-trick.

But the Workies suffered a surprise 2-1 defeat at Inkberrow on Tuesday which leaves them needing to overcome Wanderers by a seven-goal margin in Sunday's showdown.

Upton Snodsbury secured the second division title when they beat second-placed Willersey with goals from Spencer (2), Annis and McLean.

Cup finalists Peopleton lost at Pebworth despite leading at half time, second half goals from Trainor and Hyde took the points for the home side.

Division Four champions Defford and Besford were surprisingly defeated by Bretforton VIC.

The Tewkesbury Sports Knockout Cup final takes place on Sunday between Upton Snodsbury and Peopleton at Common Road, with a 6pm kick-off.
