IF it was not a serious issue Councillor Oborski's letter (Shuttle/Times and News, April 11)would be amusing.
He has put out a leaflet which implies that the budget is his - surely the local population elected 42 members to run Wyre Forest District Council.
In his letter, he puts most of the blame for the increase in Council Tax on the police and county council. At least those two bodies are making promises of increased services in some areas, whereas the district council's increase is accompanied by promises of reductions in services. I know which I would prefer, and I am sure most thinking people in Wyre Forest would also be prepared to pay for essential services, not to be squandered on allowances for councillors who do not appear to do anything.
