Bird-in-Hand opened up a 12-point lead but by round eight the gap was reduced to three points.
An advantage gained on the picture and topical rounds gave the final victory to the Sun.
Bird-in-Hand halted Bay Horses 64-51, while Angel A fell to Rising Sun A in the semi-finals.
