VOLLEYBALL: Wyre Forest teenagers Sam Bragg and Luke Boxall played several international matches in the England Cadet Volleyball U-17s team in Lille, France.

Bragg and Boxall train and play West Midlands League volleyball at the Redhill School-based club in Stourbridge.

Bewdley High School pupil Bragg, 14 and 6ft 1ins, has been on four trips abroad with the country's cadet squad and figures in the starting line-up despite being the youngest member of the group.

Boxall, 15, is a King Charles I High School and is a relative novice to the game but the 6ft 5ins teenager has improved greatly since entering the national squad system.

They played against France, Belgium and Germany over Easter and hope to be selected for the next England junior men's U-19s squad after two-week selection camp in the summer.

Both hope to play some part in the 2004 European Junior Championships and they are set to turn out for West Midlands in the 10-team Inter-regional Championships in Stoke over the May Day weekend.
