ROWING: Smokey Hart gained the first successes of the regatta season proper for Stourport Boat Club at Birmingham.
Racing a straight final in Veteran C Single Sculls, former Bewdley Rowing Club man Hart overcame his opposition by four lengths for his first club victory and the 92nd of his career.
The seasoned sculler produced Stourport's 29th win of the season in the Veteran C Sculls event at Leicester Regatta the next day.
Receiving a bye through to the final and racing an older sculler from St. Neot's, Hart had to endure a six-second handicap from the starter.
But he produced his customary explosive start to eventually win by four lengths again.
