ATHLETICS: Tom Kenderdine made an impressive start for Kidderminster and Stourport Athletic Club in the first of the Hereford 5km road race series, winning in 15 minutes 39 seconds.
Steve Smith was 16th overall in 16-46 and Steve Gould 20th in 17-02, closely followed by Andy Millwood, 17-27, and Graham McMillan, 17-49.
Lucy Wright made a fantastic debut in the race, finishing as first lady and seventh overall in 16-13.
Wright set a new lady's course record, 22 seconds quicker than the old one.
Meanwhile, Ken Morgan was the first member to finish the London Marathon the previous week in three hours six minutes and 12 seconds.
Morgan and Neil Kerr, who clocked a personal best of 3-33-39, raised money for MacMillan Cancer Research.
Other times: Brian Morgan 3-34-33, Paul Bradley 3-37-22, John Gibbs 3-38-10, Carl Davis 3-38-49, Ron Payne 3-48-58, Mick Hudson 4-40-05, Gary Bonner also competed.
