POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a young woman was found dead in her car in Wolverley on Friday morning.

Gemma Reid, 24, from Bromsgrove, was discovered at Sandy Lane in her white Audi 90 soon after 8.30pm. She had last been seen alive leaving an address in Kidderminster at 6am the day before.

Ms Reid, an unemployed mother, grew up in Wolverley but had since moved away from the village. Det Insp Adrian Todd of Kidderminster Police said the final postmortem report was awaited and police were treating the tragedy as an unexplained death.

"We are keeping an open mind. It's not a murder inquiry. An investigation is underway to build up a picture of Gemma's last movements between the time she left home and the time she was discovered," he said.

"We are appealing for anyone who saw Gemma, or who saw her car in Sandy Lane between Thursday and Friday, to contact Kidderminster Police on 01562 820888."
