A GANG of teenage girls from a Worcester estate have been warned that they could face detention orders after admitting attacking two girls.

The three friends jumped out of a car and assaulted two girls in a "completely unprovoked attack", Worcester magistrates heard yesterday.

The two 15-year-olds (girl A and girl B) and a 16-year-old, from Warndon, launched the attack on the evening of Saturday, April 6, in the St John's area of Worcester.

Mark Soper, prosecuting, said the victims were walking towards their homes when the attacks took place.

"The three girls got out of a vehicle and attacked them," he said. "It was a completely unprovoked attack."

One of the girls suffered bruising to her lower back and face after being kicked and punched.

The blonde 16-year-old defendant admitted affray and assault. Girl A admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray, while girl B admitted affray.

The trio, who cannot be named for legal reasons, also admitted failing to answer to bail at Worcester Police Station on Sunday, April 14.

They faced further charges in connection with an incident in Worcester on Friday, March 29.

Girl B admitted obstructing a police officer in the execution of his duty.

The officer had to use CS spray before arresting her, said Mr Soper.

The 16-year-old admitted using threatening and disorderly behaviour, while Girl A entered no plea to a charge of assault.

The case has been adjourned until Wednesday, May 8, to allow pre-sentence reports to be compiled.

Magistrates said the girls were at serious risk of custody and wanted the reports to consider all options.

They were released on bail, with the conditions attached that they must not contact each other between 7am on Saturday mornings and 9pm on Sunday evenings.

They also have to remain indoors between 9pm and 7am during the week. Girl A also has to stay 100 yards away from stores on Cranham Drive, Warndon.
