BROADWAY ladies staged a stableford event in windy conditions that proved so difficult for most of the competitors that the CSS was raised to 75.
Sue Jones, though, was untroubled by the conditions to card an excellent 42 points, reducing her handicap from 32 to 28.
Scores - Silver Division: 1 Janet Straw 34pts (cb); 2 Jenny Brotherton 34. Bronze (21-27): 1 Sue Byrd 33; 2 Stella Stacey 32 (cb); 3 Jay Dowty 32. (28-40): 1 S Jones 42; 2 Hazel Dickinson 36.
The men were also troubled by near gale-force conditions for the first medal of the season. However, Martin Gore was an easy winner with a net 68.

Evesham
SUNDAY'S AM-AM competition of teams comprising two men and two ladies saw victory go to the quartet of Jeremy Taylor, Pat Ogle and Ken and Joan Hunt.
The course was in splendid condition for the stableford format tournament with the best two scores counting on every hole apart from eight and 17, where all four counted.
